Every action counts
Money saves lives fastest, but it is not the only way to help. Here are simple things anyone can do this week.
Give, even a little
Small, regular gifts to a trusted organisation add up. Monthly giving helps charities plan ahead.
Choose a charityShare a briefing
Send one crisis page to a friend or family group. Each one has sources and ways to help built in.
Pick a crisisCheck before you forward
Old or misleading images spread fast in every crisis. Share only what you can trace to a reliable source.
Write to your representatives
Ask your elected officials to support humanitarian funding, the protection of civilians and safe access for aid. A short, polite message in your own words is enough.
Organise locally
A bake sale, a fundraising walk, or a collection at your school, mosque, church or workplace can raise far more than one person alone.
Lend your skills
Doctors, nurses, engineers and logisticians can apply to work with organisations such as MSF and the IRC. Translators and designers can help local groups.
